Red wine comes from the maceration process of red grapes with their skins and seeds. When a quality wine is presented to our table, it is always advisable to drink it between 16 and 18 degrees.
To soothe the thermal sensation of these cold weather and freezing temperatures, the best thing to do is to drink our Barcolobo red wines. Warmed to 16 degrees it will accentuate the sweet taste, you will enjoy all its range of aromas and the presence of alcohols.
Although not all red wine is served at room temperature, the important thing is to be careful of sudden changes. A differential of 6 degrees in one day can damage the wine, causing the loss of many nuances and creating precipitations in its composition. Therefore, from Barcolobo we recommend that you avoid putting it in the refrigerator as it will block its aromas and accentuate the acidic flavors.
It is said that red wine is synonymous with good health. Drinking a glass after a meal or before bedtime can help you lose weight, because it facilitates the digestive process and prevents the formation of fat cells.
The antioxidants and anti-inflammatories provided by its dark skins are very beneficial. Red wine can help slow aging, boost our brain capacity and treat gum infections. Besides, it combats tiredness, increases our endorphins (sensation of well-being), cleanses our palate, among many other benefits.
Drinking a glass of any of our three red wines evokes an experience of pure pleasure, whether it is La Rinconada 2018, Victoria 2016 or El Jaral 2016. For its elaboration, the grape becomes a key element. Among the best stand out: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Tempranillo and Malbec.
We are with you even in the coldest temperatures
That is why we present El Jaral 2016. Our distinguished red wine presents the most pleasing combination of three types of grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Tempranillo. It is aged for 20 months in new French oak barrels. During the tasting you will notice the cherry red color, with episcopal trim, clean and bright. Its ripe fruit presents balsamic notes, cedar and tobacco, as well as sweet spices. When tasted, it is balanced, fresh and persistent.
Another option that will never be missing on your table is our red Victoria 2016. This wine is predominantly Tempranillo (70%), with 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. During the tasting you will be able to notice its purple strength. As well as the soft harmonies offered by the black fruit caressed by the wood, licorice, tobacco and smoked. Its flavor stimulates the balsamic notes of mint, scrubland and sweet touches. All this delights our palate.
And the last red wine and of course, not least, is La Rinconada 2018. Its elaboration is 100% Tempranillo. It has been aged, matured and refined in French and American barrels for 4 months. It presents a cherry red color, clean and bright. With aromas of red fruits, lactic and cocoa. On the palate it is tasty, fresh and with good volume. To express all its aromas it is advisable to serve it between 14 to 16 degrees in a wide glass.
For the Barcolobo reds: El Jaral 2017 and Victoria 2016, we recommend a serving temperature of 16 degrees. Due to its tannin content and artisanal production, the wine may present variations over time. For this reason, we recommend decanting to remove any sediment that may have accumulated.
All our wines are a seal of excellence and quality. Our passion for viticulture has been recognized by numerous awards since 2015.
With Barcolobo there is no cold weather that a bottle of red wine cannot overcome.
