It’s been a long time coming, but the complete collection of Barcolobo wines is here. The Valladolid winery presents, in addition to the new vintage of La Rinconada, its Verdejo wine converted into its best version: La Garza 2020.

LA GARZA 2020

New name, same essence. Made with Verdejo grapes from old vineyards, this wine is aged in new French oak barrels. After fermentation, 12 months on its own lees with frequent batonnages, and then a further month in stainless steel tanks on lees for fining. The process ends with a rest period of 13 months in the bottle.

Characterized by a honeyed tone with greenish glints, La Garza is an expressive wine with notes of ripe stone fruit and toasted nuances reminiscent of wood and nuts. On the palate, it is defined as an unctuous wine, with balanced acidity and a surprisingly oily finish.

LA RINCONADA

La Rinconada, a wine that refers to the estate where the Barcolobo winery is located, returns with a new vintage: 2022. From 100% Tempranillo varietals, this red wine is made from uncrushed destemmed grapes macerated in stainless steel tanks for 6 days at 5C and aged in 225L fine-grained, medium-toasted French and American oak barrels.

Violet in color with medium intensity, the palate is a wine that tastes of fresh red fruit with notes of licorice. Hints of wood and wild fruits also appear. It ends with a round and harmonious finish.
