When we talk about quality, we immediately think of expensive, practically inaccessible products. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are firms and companies that, above all, think of the end consumer and make products with competitive prices for the market. This is the case of Barcolobo, a luxury wine within everyone’s reach.

Not all wines have the privilege of being grown, matured and produced in a nature reserve. The Barcolobo winery, located in Finca La Rinconada, grows (as well as its production) in the “Riberas de Castronuño – Vega del Duero” enclave, an exceptional habitat where agricultural tradition coexists with livestock and hunting. An environment declared a nature reserve in the province of Valladolid.

What is so special about this nature reserve?

The very definition of nature reserve (or ecological reserve) already tells us that it is a semi-protected area with geological features of special interest. These conditions are precisely what make Barcolobo wines unique. In this case, “Riberas de Castronuño – Vega del Duero” has sandy and stony soils in which a continental climate of Atlantic influence predominates – cold winters and quite warm summers. As a result, quality grapes are obtained that stand out for their great concentration.

As a result, we are talking about wines of incomparable quality and flavor, with some of the most characteristic touches, which end up becoming unique thanks to the elaboration and aging processes. A production that is carried out with the utmost care and respect, from manual harvesting in small quantities to keeping them cold to achieve a greater extraction of varietal aromas, colors and noble tannins, without forgetting their aging in French oak barrels with toast selected according to variety and type of wine.

Tempranillo, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon; these are the grape varieties grown. La Rinconada, Victoria, El Jaral, Lacrimae Rerum and Verdejo; and these are our wines, where we find reds, whites and rosés, from different vintages. All of them awarded over the years by the most experts, including the Peñín Guide, the Decanter World Wine Award or the International Wine Challenge.

This is Barcolobo, a wine of luxury and quality, for its flavor, tradition and respect, within the reach of all audiences, for the enjoyment of all pairings and palates.
